Black Swan is on in the Omniplex – at 21.15
I have seen it myself and would definitely recommend it to anyone who likes psychological thrillers…
It’s the story of the ultimate price of perfection and Natalie Portman delivers an excellent performance.
Aronofsky approaches the movie and the dancing in such a way that he doesn’t waste much time explaining in detail – but you still manage to understand the insulated world of ballet.
When Natalies character ‘Nina’ starts to dance you can see her stiffness and frigidity and when Leroy (her instructor) demands that she show passion as the Black Swan you can see where she fails.
The movie really hits its peak about 3/4 of the way in when Nina starts to change mentally – everything starts to be questioned and both the audience and Nina start to wonder what is real and what is not!
When the movie reaches its conclusion the audience will be left feeling confused and breathless – and that is the brillance of Aronofsky!
Have you seen this movie ? How do you rate it – out of FIVE STARS?
I rate it as a 3.5!
